If I have a 3.2GHz Pentium D (64 bit capable) would it make more sense Go to the Microsoft web site and download the Vista Upgrade Advisor. Run it and you then should be able to make your decision.

What makes it worse is that although I can't open the 64 bit DVD on my laptop (no support), I can get the computer to boot from it and even load the files Or should I just order the 32 bit CDs and try that? The reason the "upgrade" advisor won't run on 64bit is that there is NO upgrade from any prior version to Vista 64. Even if you're funning XP x64, it's still a clean install. (There are many reasons for this, but the single most telling one is the need for signed drivers in Vista 64.
